Yichang Renfu Pharmaceutical won second and third prizes in the finals of the China Innovation Methods Competition.

Recently, the finals of the 2025 China Innovation Methods Competition concluded in Shandong. The Oral Solid Dosage Form Factory and the Technology Center’s innovation team from Yichang Renfu Pharmaceutical each won second and third place nationally, respectively.
The two teams focused respectively on the technical challenges of C=C double-bond reduction in the transdermal patch industry and in the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing process. Leveraging TRIZ innovation methodology, they achieved innovative results with practical value. During the project presentation session, the teams systematically explained—through both presentations and Q&A—that they had successfully integrated TRIZ innovation theory deeply with industrial practice, effectively addressing real-world issues throughout the entire drug R&D and production process. In the theoretical assessment phase, the teams demonstrated their solid theoretical foundation by focusing on topics such as innovation methodologies and lean manufacturing. After several rounds of intense competition, both teams ultimately won awards, thanks to their projects’ practical value, outstanding on-site performance, and strong theoretical expertise.
During the competition, an “Exhibition on Popularizing Innovative Methods” will be held concurrently. The project “Innovative Methods Boosting the Green and Efficient Synthesis of ‘Ruijing’”—which won the National First Prize in 2021 for Yichang Renfu Pharmaceutical—will be showcased at the exhibition as a representative of “new technologies.”
Currently, innovation methodology projects have been widely applied within the company to key areas such as the development of new dosage forms, optimization of green synthesis processes, and intelligent upgrades of production equipment. These efforts have effectively addressed technological bottlenecks, promoted quality improvement and cost reduction, and accelerated the industrialization of new products.
