On May 13, Deng Renjie, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Group, conducted a research visit to Xinjiang Weiyao, accompanied by Chang Li, Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Innovation & Technology. They were warmly received by all senior executives, including Yin Qiang, Vice President of Renfu Pharmaceutical Group, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of Xinjiang Weiyao.
The research team went deep into the front lines of enterprise production and operations, visiting successively the company’s cultural exhibition hall, the intelligent extraction workshop, the integrated formulation workshop, and the smart warehousing center. They gained a detailed understanding of the company’s development history, industrial layout, and operational status.
At the symposium, Yin Qiang provided a detailed report on Xinjiang Weiyao’s research and innovation efforts, its international market presence, and its future development plans. He noted that as a century-old state-owned enterprise, China Merchants Group’s strategic layout is deeply aligned with Renfu Pharmaceutical’s industrial strengths. Under the strategic empowerment and innovative leadership of China Merchants Group, Xinjiang Weiyao will embrace even broader development opportunities. The company will remain steadfast in its strategic direction, fully leveraging its resource and industrial advantages to continuously expand its market coverage. Driven by technological innovation, Xinjiang Weiyao will keep enriching its portfolio of distinctive products, while accelerating the development of its overseas operations and actively promoting the industry toward greater scale and internationalization. Focusing on its own development, Xinjiang Weiyao will continually enhance its core competitiveness and strive for high-quality corporate growth, demonstrating greater contributions in the Group’s strategic layout within the life sciences sector through concrete actions.
Deng Renjie fully affirmed the remarkable achievements Xinjiang Wei Yao has made in recent years in areas such as ethnic medicine R&D, industrial application, and market development. He stated that China Merchants Group is currently at the stage of its “Third Entrepreneurship,” a period of rapid growth for its life sciences sector. At present, it is in a transitional phase as it moves into Renfu Pharmaceutical Group. As one of Renfu Pharmaceutical Group’s core industries, Xinjiang Wei Yao must focus on long-term, stable development, strengthen internal collaborative management, and ensure that production, operations, and innovation management during the transition period proceed smoothly and in an orderly manner.
Regarding the next stage of development for Xinjiang’s traditional Uyghur medicine, Deng Renjie put forward several key requirements: First, we must remain committed to innovation-driven development, significantly increase investment in R&D, and focus on building a research team with a well-structured composition and highly specialized expertise. We should continuously enhance our ability to commercialize research findings and leverage new-quality productivity to propel enterprise growth. Second, we must intensify efforts to nurture the ethnic medicine industry, consolidate our leading position within the sector, actively promote collaborative partnerships among upstream and downstream enterprises, strengthen the development of critical core capabilities, and boost the company’s overall competitiveness. This will further bolster the distinctive advantages of the ethnic medicine industry and contribute to the leapfrog development of the Group’s life sciences sector.
Relevant officials from the Party Building Department of China Merchants Group, China Merchants Innovation & Technology, China Merchants Capital, China Merchants Inspection, and Kaisai Bio participated in the research visit.
