Zhaoshang Chuangke and Renfu Pharmaceutical Held a Special Seminar on “AI + Scientific Research” and Industrial Synergy.

On April 16, the special seminar on “AI + Scientific Research” and Industrial Collaboration, co-hosted by China Merchants Innovation and Renfu Pharmaceutical, was held at Renfu Pharmaceutical’s headquarters. Participants from various organizations engaged in an in-depth discussion on common challenges and hot topics facing AI-driven biopharmaceuticals, synthetic biology, and bio-manufacturing, and actively explored potential future collaboration pathways.

Deng Weidong, Secretary of the Party Committee, General Manager, and Director of Renfu Pharmaceutical at Zhaoshang Chuangke, delivered the opening remarks. Deng Weidong pointed out that, against the backdrop of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence technology and breakthroughs in its application scenarios, it is now crucial for us to integrate “AI + scientific research” into Zhaoshang Chuangke’s and various units’ technological innovation and industrial applications, fostering synergistic integration and building innovative momentum. He expressed hope that through this seminar, while fully showcasing everyone’s exploration achievements, we can remain committed to high-end leadership, boldly pursue deeper insights, and create a ripple effect—transforming the seminar into a “resource pool” for information sharing on “AI + scientific research,” a “hub” for technology application, and a “linker” for industrial collaboration, thereby deepening the integrated and win-win development of the three key areas: biopharmaceuticals, synthetic biology, and bio-manufacturing.

In her speech, Deng Xiafei, Director and President of Renfu Pharmaceutical, stated that, backed by the robust platform provided by China Merchants Group—a century-old state-owned enterprise with a strong presence in Hong Kong—Renfu Pharmaceutical will embrace the Group’s “Third Entrepreneurship” initiative with a higher perspective, broader vision, and stronger capabilities. Together with our partners, we will jointly write a new chapter in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. As always, Renfu Pharmaceutical will continue to actively deepen cooperation and exchanges with participating organizations across various fields, including new drug development, clinical diagnosis and treatment, synthetic biology, public health, and health management.

At the academic thematic seminar, experts shared several groundbreaking research findings. Representatives from eight participating organizations—Renfu Pharmaceutical, Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research, Mingdu Zhiyun, Beijing Molecular Heart, Kaisai Biotech, Shenzhen Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University School of Life Sciences, and Ruichi Information—each presented in turn on the “three breakthroughs” that current AI technologies are achieving in the biopharmaceutical field: breaking through traditional R&D efficiency bottlenecks, transcending the cognitive boundaries of complex systems, and overcoming physical limitations in industrial collaboration. They engaged in an in-depth discussion on the applications and development prospects of this technology. Experts from Kaisai Biotech explored the technological bottlenecks in synthetic biology R&D and proposed corresponding strategies for addressing them. Meanwhile, experts from Ruichi Information highlighted the critical role of domestically produced AI all-in-one machines in enterprises’ digital transformation.

During the roundtable discussion, more than 70 participating experts engaged in an in-depth dialogue on topics including the application of AI technology in the fields of biomedicine, synthetic biology, and bio-manufacturing; how to promote collaborative partnerships between investment promotion and innovation-driven enterprises; and the construction of industrial ecosystems. Participants conducted a thorough analysis of the technological pathways and development goals for “AI + scientific research” in the areas of biomedicine and synthetic biology. They expressed their anticipation that, in the future, the advantages of investment promotion will be further leveraged to establish a seamless loop among “technology, finance, and industry,” thereby fostering an innovative ecosystem characterized by mutual advancement between industry and research and synergistic collaboration between industry and finance.

Huang Xiaohua, a member of the Party Committee of Zhaoshang Chuangke and a director of Renfu Pharmaceutical, chaired the closing ceremony and put forward relevant initiatives. Representatives from the Strategic Development Department/Technology Innovation Department, the Industrial Development Department/Business Synergy Department, the Digitalization Center, the Advanced Technology Institute of China Merchants Group, and the Wuhan Branch of China Merchants Bank shared their insights and experiences.
