On March 5, the second session of the 14th National People's Congress was solemnly held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Nearly 3,000 deputies to the National People's Congress gathered together to conscientiously fulfill the sacred duties entrusted to them by the Constitution and laws. Li Jie, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Renfu Pharmaceutical Group, as well as Chairman of Yichang Renfu Pharmaceutical, attended the session.
Premier Li Qiang delivered the Government Work Report on behalf of the State Council to the Congress, providing a comprehensive summary and review of all work carried out in 2023 and outlining the overall requirements, policy orientations, and government tasks for economic and social development in 2024. Li Jie stated, “The report unites hearts and gathers strength, inspiring us to forge ahead. It fully demonstrates the government’s fine style of earnestly pursuing practical results. I wholeheartedly endorse it and firmly support it!”
In his report, Premier Li Qiang proposed “promoting the specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative development of small and medium-sized enterprises.” Li Jie stated that Renfu Pharmaceutical is committed to becoming a leader in niche markets and pursuing a path of specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative growth—aligning closely with the government’s encouraging direction. After more than 20 years of dedicated efforts in the field of anesthesia and pain management, Renfu Pharmaceutical has now become a national-level single-item champion manufacturer and Asia’s largest R&D and manufacturing enterprise for anesthetic drugs.

Li Jie felt deeply excited about the inclusion of the term “innovative drugs” in the government work report for the first time. He stated that innovation is the core driving force behind the sustained development of pharmaceutical companies. In recent years, the company has consistently adhered to using technological innovation to guide high-quality development, with cumulative R&D investment exceeding 5 billion yuan over the past five years. The company has already received approval for three Class 1 innovative drugs, and several production lines have been certified by the U.S. FDA and the UK’s MHRA. The company’s key business indicators have maintained steady growth. Under the favorable policies from the government supporting private enterprises and the real economy, the company will spare no effort to achieve its development goals for 2024.
Li Jie is fully confident in the report’s proposal to “deepen and solidify high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.” In recent years, Renfu Pharmaceutical Group has successively established pharmaceutical distribution companies in six African countries and set up manufacturing plants in two countries, significantly alleviating the shortage of medicines in eight West African nations and benefiting 140 million people in West Africa. Looking ahead, the company will fully respond to the nation’s call for the Belt and Road Initiative and actively promote the development of global health and medical care.
Li Jie stated that the company will continue to respond to the nation’s call, firmly pursue the path of “specialization, refinement, uniqueness, and innovation,” accelerate its pace of internationalization, and strive to become the world’s leading brand in the field of anesthesia and pain management.
