Focusing Hearts and Pooling Strength to Promote Development—Pragmatic Action to Write a New Chapter | Renfu Pharmaceutical Group Holds Its 2023 Trade Union Conference

On December 14, the 2023 trade union conference of Renfu Pharmaceutical Group was held at the Renfu Pharmaceutical Innovation Center. Attending the meeting were Li Jie, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Group; Li Li'e, Vice President and Chief Engineer of the Group; Yu Qun, Vice President and Chairman of the Trade Union; members of the Group’s 6th-term Trade Union Committee; and chairpersons and representatives of trade unions from the headquarters and various operating companies.

Yu Qun, Chairman of the Group’s Trade Union, reviewed and summarized the trade union’s work for 2023. In 2023, the Group’s Trade Union adhered to the guiding principles of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, comprehensively studied and implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the 18th National Congress of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and the 14th Congress of the Hubei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions. Closely aligned with the enterprise’s development goals, the Trade Union achieved remarkable results in areas such as deepening democratic management within the Group’s Trade Union, enhancing employees’ professional competence, delivering practical benefits to workers, enriching the Group’s cultural development, and fostering a harmonious and supportive development environment.

Regarding the 2024 Group Union Work Plan, Chairman Yu Qun emphasized the following five points: First, we must strengthen publicity and learning to bolster workers’ ideological development; second, we must reinforce the construction of union organizations and build solid, battle-ready strongholds; third, taking the opportunity of striving for excellence and innovation, we must promote innovation in union work; fourth, we must implement the “Warm-Hearted Project” for employees to enhance corporate cohesion; and fifth, we must maintain a high frequency of employee activities to unite hearts internally and project a positive image externally.

Secretary Li Jie gave full recognition to the Group’s trade union for its work in 2023. On behalf of the Group’s Party Committee, Board of Directors, and President’s Office, he expressed gratitude to the Group’s Trade Union Committee, trade union organizations at all levels, and trade union officials for fully playing their role as “caring family members” to employees, firmly uniting the Group’s more than 10,000 employees, creating a beautiful and comfortable office environment, fostering a harmonious and amicable workplace atmosphere, and promoting the company’s high-quality development.

Secretary Li Jie pointed out that 2024 is a critical year for the Group to fully implement the 14th Five-Year Plan. He expressed hope that the Group’s trade union would: first, uphold Party building as the guiding principle and unite employees to listen to and follow the Party; second, foster a corporate culture brimming with positive energy to solidify the foundation for the company’s development; third, persist in innovation-driven development and continuously enhance employees’ scientific and technological innovation capabilities; and fourth, strengthen care at the grassroots level and pay close attention to young people. Secretary Li Jie emphasized that the Group’s trade union must, with a strong sense of responsibility and mission, rigorously implement all the company’s requirements, successfully complete all assigned tasks, and, with an even more vigorous spirit, strive to create a new pattern for the development of the Renfu Pharmaceutical Group’s trade union, working tirelessly toward building a world-class pharmaceutical enterprise with global competitiveness.

The meeting held an on-site ceremony to recognize Le Yang, Executive Deputy Director of the Group’s Pharmaceutical Research Institute, who was awarded “2023 Wuhan Outstanding Mentor Teacher”; and the team from Zhang Xuejun’s Innovation Studio at the Group’s Pharmaceutical Research Institute, which was honored as a “2023 Wuhan Model Employee (Model Worker, Craftsman) Innovation Studio.” Li Lige, Vice President and Chief Engineer of the Group, presented the award to Executive Deputy Director Le Yang, while Li Jie, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of the Group, presented the award to the team from Zhang Xuejun’s Innovation Studio.

After the award ceremony, union officials from the Group’s operating companies reported on the union’s work in 2023 and outlined the work plan for 2024. In 2023, unions at all levels within the Group actively organized multi-level and diverse union activities, focusing on both the company’s development and the needs of employees, thereby contributing their strength to sustaining the Group’s strong upward momentum in business performance.

The meeting also invited Ning Peng, a lecturer from the Hubei Provincial Trade Union Cadre School, to deliver an on-site lecture on the guiding principles of the 18th National Congress of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the 14th Provincial Congress of the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions. Teacher Ning’s presentation was both insightful and easy to understand, rich in content, enabling participants to gain a more comprehensive, accurate, and in-depth understanding of the spirit behind these two congresses. It also provided clear guidance for better carrying out various tasks in the future. At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants visited and learned from the Guochuang Group.

As we look forward to the upcoming year 2024, the Group’s trade union will take the lead in assuming responsibilities and delivering concrete results, further identifying key areas of convergence, entry points, and priorities for its work. By fully leveraging the role of the trade union organization, staying committed to serving the overall interests of the Group, and acting as a strong driver of the Group’s high-quality development, the trade union will unite and guide all Renfu employees to make even greater contributions on the Group’s new journey of development.
