On February 20, the East Lake High-tech Zone held an expanded meeting of its Party Working Committee to summarize the work done during the 13th Five-Year Plan period and in 2020, outline plans for the 14th Five-Year Plan period and for 2021, and look ahead to the vision goal for 2035. Delegates from all levels of the National People's Congress, including Li Jie, a deputy to the National People's Congress, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of Renfu Pharmaceutical Group, as well as members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, were invited to attend the meeting.

At the meeting, the “Proposal of the Working Committee of the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China for the East Lake New Technology Development Zone on Formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Visionary Goals for 2035 for the Entire Zone” was released. The proposal emphasizes concentrating efforts on advancing the construction of East Lake Science City, wholeheartedly creating an upgraded version of the “Three Optics Valleys,” boldly taking on the role of “leader” in innovation-driven development at both the provincial and municipal levels, and sounding the call to accelerate our march toward becoming the “World Optics Valley.” Renfu Pharmaceutical Group will closely focus on three key objectives—revitalizing existing assets, laying out plans for the future, and cultivating talent—and through three strategic approaches—“focus, innovation, and internationalization”—continuously enhance and strengthen its core competitiveness, striving to become a first-class Chinese pharmaceutical enterprise with global competitiveness and contributing to the creation of a new blueprint for Hubei’s biopharmaceutical industry.
